Symposium Cafe Restaurant and Lounge

I love this place for their veggie options, love their ambiance (makes me nostalgic about my trips to Europe) and friendly service...great place for a Girl's night out!

I used to be a big fan of Cafe Symposium but I have found that this year, the Meadowvale one in particular, has gone downhill. The main waitress is very casual and laid-back, which is not a particulary endearing trait for an efficient waitress. She spends alot of time chatting, laughing, etc. usually on a more personal level, then she is taking care of customers. Last time we went, seating was terrible, the young waitress spilled coffee all over the tray and the cup had coffee stains on it, she never apologized, tried to clean it up, nothing. She tried to take plate away right from out of our guest's way while he was still eating and the Eggs Benedict I had ordered were way overcooked. All in all, a big disappointment. the place also no longer has that clean atmosphere as it used to. Everything is dusty and the fruit display (bananas) were going black, so very unappetizing. It used to be my favourite restaurant, unfortunately no longer

that's how the cafe's should look like! I'm European and that's how I remember cafes back home... I wish they had more of those here... and less of those Tim Horton's LOL

A truly amazing experience, it was very pleasant having lunch with my clients!! the new owner/manager has steeped it up quite a bit!! i highly recommend for good food drinks and ambiance! enjoy!

I love the ambiance and the fact that it is at the perfect location right next to the library, the grocery store and the gym. I go there every morning just to eat their breakfasts. The waitresses are very accomodating. Truly a delight.

Oh wow! From the first time my friend invited me to go with her to have tea i was hooked, it was a cold winter's night and the captain's chairs that they have just surrounded me, and the fire place, i felt like i was home. This restaurant is the best! the Mississauga location, it is exceptional!

symposium is somewhere that any and everyone can feel comfortable. The menu is easy on the pocket,nice to the taste buds and customer service that makes me go back on a regular basis. Bon appetite!!!

I absolutely LOVE this calm atmospheric cafe! The service is great... except for this one lady who shall not be named but in her defence I think she was having a bad day. Anyway, the food is delicious, average pricing for a upper-class cafe and the best time to go there is at night as the candles are lit with a dim lighting setting. The couches add comfort to the warm atmosphere aswell. And the best part is, is that the cafe is open late every night! =) Strongly recommend trying it out!

Altogether an excellent experience. We would highly recommend this destination to friends and strangers. Well done on prices, food quality, and service!
