Cantina Mexicana

We went as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon! We had a late lunch/early dinner. We had appetizers, cocktails, main dish, and then desert. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. Our server was the owner. She was a true delight! We felt like our mexican grandma was doing the cooking and serving...we were tempted to tell her to sit while we cleared the dishes! Unfortunately we live far north so can only visit this restaraunt on special occaisons. It was pricey but we felt it was worht the fantastic food, great service, and fun atmoshere )
You must go and judge for yourself.........I can't wait to go again!

Hello all. My name is Jo and I am planning to go tomorrow. I really hope this place is good. There many different reviews. I will post my comments tomorrow. I love Mexican food and I really miss having a decent pace to eat at. I lived in Virginia for 20 years and got spoiled with so many restaurants near my home. I visited this place a few hours ago. The food was good (We ordered 6 Vegetarian dishes and split them), I especially liked the nachos and enchiladas. However,a few spoons guacamole for $6 is ridiculous. Additionally, when asked for more chips (they provided one small basket for a table of 6), the owner snapped at us, saying that if we wanted our food on time we couldn't keep asking for chips.
Overall, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but the owner wasn't hospitable, and even reprimanded my grandmother for asking for more salsa! The main dishes were overpriced as well.

I do not know if I will be returning, but If I do it will be for take-out.

I went to this restaurant once with my husband and we received an OK service, but we were served by a waitress. This was in November 2009. Although the portions were really tiny, we decided to go back again in the spring of 2010 and that's when we were served by the owner herself. What a rude lady! I am shocked she is still in business. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. If you go there she will totally ruin your evening! Like I said the portions are tiny, tiny bit of salad, tiny bit of rice and a very small burrito. Overpriced crap! If you happen to love guacamole sacue, prepare to spend $6 on a tiny scoop. You have to demand the chips and salsa, but what she brings you is not enough even for one person and you would think chips would be the least of her cost. She is extremely cheap. I asked for extra sause to go with chips , she came back with a new cup of sauce which she slammed on the table Why would she do that? i was prepared to pay for it. Do not go to this place!

9 years ago it was good but we went back recently and the food is crap. This can not be mexican owned as mexican's don't even know how to make a bad meal. I think it's run by a couple of Polish chicks that make the worst taco's i have ever tasted. The service is crappy and so is the food. Looks like a little competition down the street might make them smarten up.

This place is excellent. People are lying when they made these comments. You should go for yourself and taste it. These people are probably punk kids that used to work there and got fired. The food is so fresh and tasty. This place has been there for 9 years so they are doing something right if they have been there for that long.

I'm Mexican and therefore know what Mexican food should taste like. The food is not good, and the service is horrible. The owner is very rude and unwelcoming. The day I went to this restaurant, there were no Mexican people in there. When I asked around about the restaurant(among my Mexican friends) everybody told me it was not a good place (and that the owner was very rude). If I had known before, I would've avoided the place.
If you're not Mexican and don't know what Mexican food should taste like, you might find it good.

This place is super! I had a wonderful time. The food was yum and the staff very friendly and made sure we were comfortable! I can't wait to go back.

I thik their food is overly priced... and their menu selection is limited. I was really disappointed with my nachos and guacamole dip.

Decor is nice but the food is flavorless! I ordered one thing from the menu but received a different meal, they never even showed any true guilt for doing so.

Great food and I can't complain about the service. I LOVE THE OWNER and the staff. She is very straight to the point and does not sugar coat things, sorry for you guys that don't like it but that is the way it should be. Will definitely go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Gee - I wish I'd read this before my visit. I'd have to say the food was AWFUL - and almost worse than the rude and hostil owner. Cold soup - w hich took over an hour to come, nachos wet and cold (lettuce was dripping with ice cold water.) Never again.

I agree with the last comment. The food was good, especially the mole sauce! Unfortunately, the owner is not friendly and it makes for a very uncomfortable dining experience.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. The owner was extremely rude, mean and obnoxious. I will never go back.
